We had partly cloudy to mostly clear observing conditions
this past Saturday/Sunday morning. In the evening I was able
to see comet W1 Boattini with 12x63 binoculars. Later, I was
able to observe meteors for two hours with good transparency
from 5 to 7 UT. Six Eta Lyrids were seen, as were five alpha
Scorpids (Antihelions). The best meteor was of -1 magn. seen
at 6:03 from the Northern Apex source. The sporadic rate was
higher than expected the second hour.
