Here in Victoria it clouded over again around sunset, although I did get a small
sucker hole just after 8 p.m. I monitored a variable sky from around 03:10 to
03:30 UT. LM was only about 4.5 or so, but I can say with some confidence that
there was no outburst of Giacobinid activity on my watch!

After a time I turned my chair to face east and away (!) from the radiant
because that was all that remained, and eventually I was rewarded by
a single Giacobinid at 03:26. It was a majestically slow, pure white streaker of
mag -1 that cruised by the northwest corner of the Great Square and left a
brief, twisting train.

Within a few minutes even that part of the sky had filled back in so I headed
back inside, without a useful count but strangely elated by that single slow
meteor.
