(meteorobs) Big Battle, NWS vs ClearSkyClock

It's cleared off here in Edmonton, so I'll be going for some late Orionids
tonight. Radiant rises around 22:15, the Moon just before 23:00. Worse, the
Moon is still only about 25 degrees from the radiant. As Pierre says, at
least it's on the wane, having passed through third quarter in the past 24
hours meaning that the sub-solar point (the brightest area of a gibbous
moon, 90 deg. from the terminator) is no longer in view. So it will be a
nuisance but hardly spoil the show. I'll just have to park my car carefully
and choose my observing direction wisely. :)

Two years ago Alister and I got some very nice Orionids on the 24th, so it's
well worth the pursuit, moon or no moon.

PS: Congrats on the -12, Wayne. Always nice to hear one of the conscientious
meteor watchers of the world get rewarded once in awhile.
