I went out to observe for two hours on the morning of the 22nd. My tape
recorder ate the first seven minutes of my observation, so my Teff came in a
bit under 2 hours. Orionid activity seemed pretty normal but somewhat
bright. I was surprised at the faint LMs that I was able to achieve with the
Moon up; certainly the sky contrast for extended objects wasn't as good as a
moonless LM=6.7 sky.
The brightest meteors were -2, an Orionid and a nice slow South Taurid with
a violet tinge. Most of the brighter Orionids were blue. The Leo Minorids
produced several nice meteors, including a very long-pathed one early in the
observation when the radiant was low. North Taurids were pretty active, and
Epsilon Geminids showed up as well. Sporadic activity was rather poor, but
there was a very nice slow magnitude 0 sporadic.
Report follows (IMO electronic form already filled out).

So he slept on a mountain.
In a sleeping bag underneath the stars
he would lie awake and count them.
And the gray fountain spray of the great Milky Way
would never let him die alone.
