It always feels good to lie down under the stars, watching for some shooting
stars, even in off season period and spring. For the moment I already
observed during 4 nights after the Quadrantid main peak (one night in
January, February, March and April). I prefer to observe before the morning
twilight. Nothing special to declare...a bunch of weak sporadics, antihelion
meteors, no single fireball. Rates were low in February and March. But last
session (April 1-2), I had already an increase in sporadic meteors before
dawn! Counting down for the Lyrids!
Long trains,
Michel

Doesn't sound like a bad way to spend an hour. Good for you.

On the morning of April 4th I was able to get out for my first observing
session of 2009. Although my plans were to observe for a couple hours, I
began to get really sleepy after only a little more than an hour, so ended
my morning a bit earlier than normal. Although I only saw 11 meteors, it was
still an enjoyable morning.
