Just out of interest What are you using to measure the electrostatic
charge? Presumably an electrometer?

(I only ask because at work we have designed a PC based (usb)
electrometer circuit board that is used to measure from 5fA to 200nA.

Operational early this evening with two other smaller devices. The
thinking 
is that Electrophonic phenomena might be the sound of ground object
corona
