(meteorobs) Lyrids from Slovenia, 2009 April 21/22

Hi All,

I observed the Lyrids on Tuesday night with my fellow observers Mitja
Govedic and Simon Krulec.
As we were quite apart in the evening, we agreed to meet in the middle and
decided to observe from Mrzlica (literally, The Cold Mountain). There is a
small concrete panel at the very top of the mountain on which we could
observe. Although the temperature nevel fall below 7°C, the wind made us
feel very cold. The mountain thus justified its name :)

We arrived (and climbed) to the top just before 1 AM local time. The sky
was quite clear, but there was a lot of light pollution below - Zagreb (70
km to the SE) and Celje (20 km to the NE) were the most obvious. Soon
after we began observing, coulds rolled in and made us take breaks. The
last 2.5 hours of the night were clear.

In about three hours of observing, I recorded 27 Lyrids, one Antihelion
meteor and 26 sporadics.
