Ed,
You needn't lose much sleep, the globe (along
with some of the other planets) has been cooling
for the past seven years and is likely to
continue cooling through 2030. There's this small
matter of the 180 year cycle due to solar
inertial motion which seems to have a bit more
influence on our global temperature (and that of
some of the other planets which have been
warming, and are now cooling, synchronously with
us) than one of the most minor constituents of our atmosphere.
