With a storm heading towards the northeastern United States for a
Sunday arrival, I figured that tonight was my best opportunity to log
some Geminids.

---------------------------------------

Although rain and freezing precipitation is falling over much of
the Tri-State NY Area as I type this, the weather prospects still indicate
a clearing trend by midnight tonight, which will hopefully end up affording
us a view of the peak of this year's Geminid Meteor Shower.

Over the Hudson Valley (where I live) between 1 and 4 a.m. EST, cloud
cover should
decrease from 50 to 30%. Air temperatures will be in the 34 to 32-degree
range. Winds will come from the NW at average speeds of 4 to 7 m.p.h.
Wind chill values will be near 28-degrees.

In fact . . . the weather looks pretty good from North Carolina northeast
to
southern New England in that same 1 to 4 a.m. time frame.

Considering the partly cloudy to clear forecast, along with the
not-too-frigid
temperatures, I'm keeping my fingers (and already frozen toes) crossed
for a good view of the "Gems."
