Subject: (meteorobs) Fireball witnesses - 2009 Dec 14 1420 GMT / 6:20AM PST-

Seeking to contact witnesses to fireball that just occurred within this past
hour.

A colleague called me immediately after witnessing a very bright fireball as
he was just arriving at his work site at China Lake NAWS - Ridgecrest, CA.

As he spoke he described the "smoke trail" that was still persistent; in
fact, the smoke trail was still visible and reflecting light from the rising
sun when he hung-up his phone at 6:30AM local time.

For the sake of clarity, I'll leave it to my colleague to post/report the
details of his sighting. But in the meanwhile, if you are a witness to this
fireball, or if you live in the area of Kern County CA and heard a sonic
boom or have any information/videos of this 2009 Dec 14 1420 GMT / 6:20AM
PST event.

Treating this as a sporadic until we have enough information to confirm that
this is a member of the Geminid meteor shower.

Thanks for any information,
Bob V.
