Your camera recommendation is without equal INMHO. The PC164C is a SHOCKING
EYEOPENER for meteors & likely astro-imaging of solar system bodies. I am a
little sorry that I bought the Stellacam II after seeing the crispness &
clarity of this little camera edge to edge.

The PC164C runs rather warm however. For this reason I adopted to put a
mini-fan above the camera to blow air down past the camera to the housing
glass window and around inside the housing. I have also prepared a quality
outdoor timer to turn this camera on a 4 PM and off at 7:30 AM. This will
extend the life of the camera components & CCD by keeping Sunny weather
temperatures from super-heating the camera.

I am using a large Computar auto-iris DC lens for the IR project. The lens
iris response is far faster than my Rainbow 1.4mm DC-Iris. Plus it acts as a
big heat sink near the CCD.

The PC164C is a (really) great choice for any who might want to begin
serious Meteor capturing by video. I will probably buy another for
astronomy. Best money I have spent in a long time........... Now for a clear
day & night to roof mount everything.
