If Western USA was supposed to be the best seat for this year's Quads, I
sure didn't mind being on the East Coast!

I got up 4am ET under crystal clear skies in Central Florida, USA. I didn't
expect to see much, since the "peak" wasn't for another few hours. You could
have fooled me! I immediately saw activity as I laid down in my lounge chair.
More and more Quads ranging from +2 to -1 Magnitude flew from Bootes. I
don't keep specific logs when I watch meteor showers, but it was easily visible
that 1-3 pre minute were common. There were 1-3 minute lulls, and more
activity after.
At one point, around 5am ET, I saw 1,2,3,4 in succession, 1 minute of
nothing, then 1,2,3 in succession! The sporadic rate was very high also, coupled
with many satellites to ease the slow times.
You'd think that was enough? It gets better! Highlight of the night? A
yellow/orange Bolide glided slowly from northwest to southeast near overhead, as
bright as Venus, leaving pieces behind it as it flew! Where did it terminate?
The heart of Bootes! You couldn't ask for a better Bolide.
Around 5:30am, the entire sky went silent! As fast and furious as the
activity was, it stopped just as fast. An occasional Quad here and there, but
mostly nothing. At that point, I was chilly, so I came back inside.

West Coast, get ready! If your show is half as good as mine was, you're in
for a treat!

Thanks,
Anthony Central Florida, USA
