Dear colleagues,

The shocking news reached my today that Dr. Vladimir Znojil,
Brno, Czech Republic, died at the age of 67 on Dec 29, 2008.
Vlada Znojil was well known to meteor observers by his excel-
lent Atlas Brno, the most precise meteor plotting maps to
date. He was collecting Czech meteor observations for many
years, and had large influence on the analysis of meteor
observations. A few days ago I browsed through some older
correspondence and got involved reading in letters from
Vlada with his ideas. I did not know he had passed away at
the time I read his lines. Much strength to her wife who I
met once!
