International Meteor Conference
Porec, Croatia, September 24-27, 2009
=====================================

Dear meteor worker,

This year, the International Meteor Conference (IMC) will
take place from September 24 to 27 in Croatia, at a beautiful
location on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, located on the
Istrian Peninsula. On behalf of the International Meteor
Organization (IMO) and the local organizers, it is my
honor and pleasure to officially invite you to participate
in this event.

The IMC is one of the highlights of the
meteoric year and a unique opportunity to meet likeminded
people from all over the world and to exchange experiences.
In particular, you have the opportunity to present
your own results or those of your observing group
by giving a talk. In that case, you will see the paper of
your presentation published in the proceedings that will
be compiled after the event.

Participation in the 2009 IMC costs only 160 euro. This
sum includes full board in the conference hotel, all
sessions, the conference excursion, a 2009 IMC T-shirt,
and the conference proceedings. Early registrants get a
reduction of 10 euro.

You can register by filling out the electronic registration
form and paying the registration fee, or making a prepayment
of at least 75 euro. You can find this form by visiting

http://www.imo.net/imc2009

where you will also find more detailed information on this
IMC.

I also wish to use this opportunity to announce you that, from
this year onward, the IMO's Bimonthly Journal, WGN will also
be offered electronically (in addition to the paper copy).
The first electronic issue, WGN 37:1 (February 2009) is
freely accessible. You can find this 50 (!) page issue at

http://www.imo.net/files/wgn/2009/WGN37-1.pdf

In this issue, you can also find the IMC-info on p. 5.
Participants whose participation depends on the possibility
of receiving support for this purpose, should read the short
note on p. 8 to find out what to do.

If you want to receive WGN in the future (only this issue is
accessible to non-subscribers!) and you are not yet an IMO
Member/WGN Subscriber or you did not yet renew at some point,
you might want to consider to become a member or to renew now.
For more information, please visit

http://www.imo.net/imo/member

Notice that only first-time subscribers need to fill out
a registration form. All subscribers receive an electronic
confirmation containing all data we have on record as soon
as we have received payment. At that time, renewers can
inform us of any updates that are necessary!

Kind regards,

Marc Gyssens
IMO Treasurer
