Dear Richard and list in general... I am sure you know where you are and good description of what you saw....

But can you tell me where in the word you were when making this observation?

as a matter of routine we should add a location in our communications and I am guilty of failing to do so.

I have 30-40 fireball reports of an event right now which are useless as observation reports. They typically say "Wow Neat I saw it out my kitchen window which was facing southeast", or "I was driving down the road at exactly 10:33 when I saw it out my rearview window"-- Nothing else!.

It is actually a very human instinct to omit location because it is a hiccup with the advent of technology. Mentally we have never needed to explain where we are because we were usually talking to someone who was standing at our side. Many internet lists now span the entire globe: northern and southern hemispheres, all time zones etc. When you say I saw it Saturday night, It might be a date before or a date after depending what timezone I am reading it in.

Not a dig just an observation to improve the completeness of data.
Thanks and back to bed for me as well!

Regards,
Elton
