Thomas - Recording meteors in the infrared using a low level video camera has been accomplished for moon impacts. Usually these have been done when the viewer is in the "dark"; however, Allan Kimble has claimed to record during the day using a Wratten 87 filter with his camera. See link to discussion:

I, myself, would believe that this would near impossible due to the infrared attenuation through the ionosphere.

There are also many other references to other lunar impacts observed in the infrared, but recorded with an infrared sensor rather than a video camera; Google for more.
