Hello Group:
Jiri Borovicka suggested isolating the Na l line (589.0 nm) for
detecting meteors in daylight. I doubt that you can find a dome
cover with these properties. I have gone through some optical
catalogues that I have, mainly Edmonds Optics number B091C and have
found a filter that may work. Catalogue number K43-077 (12.7 mm dia
unmounted) for $44.50 and a larger one, cat # K43-129, (unmounted
25.4 mm dia) at $83.50. This filter is designed for the Na and He
emission lines. One could mount such a filter directly on the
fisheye lens, front or rear. If anyone finds a less costly filter of
this type let everyone know where you can get one. If anyone tries
this for daylight fireball detections let us know the details.
