Maybe. But I wouldn't give up my close connection with bears, cougars, and 
coyotes for the world. It's one of the reasons I live in the mountains. 
(Luckily, we have no snakes. I've lived in rattler country, and that's one 
thing I can do without.)

I never faced any lions, bears, snakes or unwelcomed peoples during the many
nights I have been observing meteors :o)
