(meteorobs) Early Leonid 2009 Observations

Hi Michael,

The weather threw a spanner in the works for me, so no Leonid images 
this time round. I did manage to catch a single bright Leonid through a 
gap in the cloud, but only with my eyes!

Hope you managed better than me.

I'm also hoping to catch a repeat of the 98 Leonids, but it seems that 
showers with as many fireballs as that night are relatively rare. As you 
say, got to keep hoping and watching though.

Agree with your thoughts on the wood-cut. I'm sure some of the evocative 
power the wood-cut exudes is down to the sheer terror of experiencing a 
storm like that and not knowing what was going on. I can imagine 
wondering if the end of the world was really nigh having experienced 
something like that!
