(meteorobs) Leonids from Hawaii Nov 18 UT

Looks like the mid-pacific was the worst spot to be for this years Leonids max (about noon local time here)! I tried another hour session just before dawn today, I saw pretty much the same level of activity as the morning before, maybe slightly less. Especially, there was no sharp 10 min peak of activity which I saw on the 17th, nor any bright bolides.
Conditions started out quite poor around 430AM with high winds and lots of clouds which I had to dodge, but still saw significant meteor activity as the holes between the clouds were very dark LM=6.5 as usual. The second half hour before dawn cleared up nicely and a good mix of meteors were seen, with a surprising show of AMO's.
Now its on to the Geminids!
