Wilmington, N.C.
Morning of the Nov. 17th 2009.
Began: 8:30 UT (3:30 a.m. EST)
End: 10:35 UT (5:35 a.m. EST)
Teff (first Teff 8:30 to 9:30 UT), (second Teff 9:35 to 10:35 UT) Total
of, two hours.
Since no major outbreak took place I kept records at an hour per Teff.
Results: Teff no# 1 - 8:30 to 9:30 UT
LEO - 9
NTA - 3
SPO - 2
-------------
(-4) (-3) (-2) (-1) ( 0) (+1) (+2) (+3) (+4)
-0----2----1----0----1----2----3-----5-----0--
The NTA's were much slower than LEO's and SPO's and one of the NTA's was
a -3 with a 20* long path, vivid Yellow/White color, took 3 seconds to
complete it's path and, ended up with a Terminal Flash (sparking and
flash bulbing along the way). Where as a -2 Leonid that had a vivid
Orange/White color
9:30 to 9:35 UT (coffee break).
Results: Teff no# 2 - 9:35 to 10:35 UT
LEO - 9
NTA - 0
SPO - 2
(-4) (-3) (-2) (-1) (0) (+1) (+2) (3+) (+4)
-0----1----1----0---2----2----3-----2-----0--
In this Teff one Leonid stood out, a -3 Blue/White, path 10 to 12
degrees long, and left a trail lasting 25 to 30 seconds long. Most
enjoyable morning. Alan
