Hi, Denis:
I took a number of shots like this on 2009-11-17 and 2009-11-18 from two different locations in New Mexico. I have included one as a .jpg attachment. It was taken on a Nikon D700 at 14mm f2.8 for about 30 seconds or so. Would it do you any good to have some more of similar quality? The shots from 11-17 are are more like 21mm and I am not sure the area you wish is within the bottom of the photos.
As Ever,
Orin Keplinger

Hello again!
I wrote regarding the Nova in Eridanus:

Of course, it should be 7 deg West and 2 deg South of *Rigel* - beta
Orioni. Pardon my dislalia, or whatever the correct English spelling
for this term is! :-) It's so easy to mix Regulus and Rigel while
talking about Leonids in Orion.

That stands correct. And in case you are using some planetarium
programs, the catalogue numbers of this star are:
USNO-B1.0 0798-0048707
USNO-A2.0 0750-01104110
3UCAC 160-015365
2MASS 04475419-1010429
(2MASS name has its coordinates: 04 47 54.19 -10 10 42.9)

If you do so, or if you post this request somewhere on the web, please
replace Regulus by Rigel manually. Sorry for the confusion!
Best regards,
Den in Moscow
P.S. CBET 2053 was issued meanwhile officially naming the new object
"Nova Eridani 2009". No images between Nov. 10 and Nov. 19 were
reported, however!
