(meteorobs) Orionids report from Hawaii Oct 21UT (much better)

Yesterday morning I was bugged by passing high clouds from a tropical storm system way to the south, but this morning I woke up at 3:30am to perfectly clear LM=6.5 skies. Thus, I observed a total of 45 Orionids in 1.5 hours just before dawn. A few EGE's could be differentiated from the ORI's, but it was difficult, due to their high velocities left little time to carefully trace back to the radiant with much accuracy. Quite a few bright ORI's were seen, many with short trains, making for an exciting observing session.

I was very fortunate to be on Molokai for work, just near the peak time of this shower! Otherwise, I would be faced with the challenge of finding dark and safe observing places on overpopulated Oahu.
