(meteorobs) Observation August 11/12, 2009 from Slovenia

We were looking forward to this year's Perseids so a larger group of
observers (all from our MART camp) met at Primoz's place. He treated us
with cevapcici s lukom and later his mother made pohorska omleta, our
favourite dishes since the camp :)
Later in the evening, we started being worried as the sky became more and
more overcast. Still, we first drove to the planned location close to
Primoz's home. That required quite some driving skills as the (dirt) road
to there is quite steep and not in good condition. We arrived there only
to find out it was completely overcast, and decided to go west as there
were reports it was clear in that direction.
After almost 3 hours of searching we found a suitable spot for observing.
I started around midnight with the Moon already high in the East, and was
facing SW. In 3.7 hours I recorded 87 meteors, mostly Persieds. I was
disappointed by the low number of Perseids, despite decent limiting
magnitude of about 6. Bright meteors were rare, also. I did not see any
fireballs during my teff, but did see three Perseid fireballs (all -4
magnitude) during breaks or after the observation.

To sum, we put much effort for a meager display.
