September 12th - 14th, 2010
We had one totally clear night with a slight haze, and one partly cloudy
night that ended out with some excellent transparency. There was very good
sporadic activity, and a good showing from a few minor meteor showers. The
best meteor seen was a nice -2 magnitude September Perseid that had a train
that lasted 3 or 4 seconds, and a had a yellow-green color. One nice
sporadic
meteor became bifurcated, and traveled in parallel paths. The big surprise
was seeing 4 meteors from the Beta Triangilid radiant the last hour of the
second night. I was able to get only two good hours of meteor observing on
each night, because I wanted to do some other types of observing as well,
which I was able to do, including seeing two comets. Below are my meteor
results for both nights.
