Note on the alpha-Augurids max:
TIming of maximim was very unfavorable for Novosibirsk - 14h local
time on 1st September. Both the neighbouring nights 31/01 and 01/02
were very clear, with a Moon creating some trouble (but not very much)
in the predawn hoors. SPO and ANT activity in these nights were quite
similar - 3, 4 and 41, 40 meteor, respectively. However, alpha-Aurigid
activity turned be very variable, with 3 meteors in the first night
and 9 in the second. For the period after 1 hour l.t, when the AUR
radiant rises higher than 30 degrees, basing on the SPO numbers and
assuming sporadic ZHR=12, I got AUR's ZHR=0.8 in the night 31/01 and
ZHR=5.6 in the night 01/02. The second value is close to the formal
IMO's maximum ZHR of 6. So there could be that AUR maximum was
somethat prolonged or shifted that year.

In the night 02/03 September the clear sky persisted only 2 hours and
no AURs were detected.
