(meteorobs) Ugly Weather for the Geminids

15 years of video observations by the IMO show that the Geminid peak occurs at solar longitude 261.5 which is 0059 UT on December 14th (right now!). 

Visual observations have shown the maximum to occur a bit later at 262.2, which is 1751 UT on December 14th.

My advice is to watch as soon as the radiant achieves an altitude of 30 degrees, which is near 9pm local standard time for observers in mid-latitudes. If can only watch for an hour or two then concentrate on the time the when the radiant is highest in the sky, between 1:00 and 2:00am LST.
