So, how is that any different than using an audio tape recorder?  You dont need to take your eyes of the sky while doing that either?

The app was designed so that an observer would be able to count meteors without taking their eyes off the sky, using audio feedback/recording and a piano style keyboard. The intent is for the device to be placed so that it is hidden from the observer's eyes, so as not to spoil dark adaption.

We are in the "1st cut" stage, and will incorporate feedback from users in later versions, and in the upcoming Android release. My hope is to eventually come up with a useful tool for meteor observers.
