Hi all,

Our sprites observation team has caught an extraordinary meteor four nights
ago:

A great meteor caught by Lior Rubanenko of ILAN Science
Team<http://tau-geo.tau.ac.il/ilan/Default.aspx>

On the night of December 7th 2011, during a sprites and TLEs hunting
observation, ILAN Team observer Lior Rubanenko caught this giant bolid
fireball meteor. This is a rather exceptional event in its brightness,
duration, features of fragmentation and slowness. Considering the
brightness and slowness of the meteor, one may speculate it could have even
dropped meteorites. The observation was made using a WATEC-902h camera from
the rooftop of Kaplun building in Tel Aviv University.
