(meteorobs) Meteor Obs. 5/9/11 - Mathias. WVa

     Screech Owl Hill Observatory, Mountain Meadows

We had a mostly clear night for observing Sunday/Monday.
Early in the evening I saw the SN 2011by in the bowl of
the Big Dipper at around magnitude 13.  Later, I watched
for meteors before dawn from 7:45-9:45 UT. The first hour
I saw only one ETA and no ELY, but the second hour there
was a surge of 6 ETA and 3 ELY meteors. The best meteor
seen was a nice -1 magnitude ETA at 8:08 UT that was a
beautiful blue-green color that had a three second train.
