I saw this last night. It was beautiful. I was outside at Mexico Beach, FL and it looked like it fell in the Gulf of Mexico. A few minutes later it looked like an airplane was investigating the location where it looked like the fireball fell.

This event occurred near 8:40pm EDT (7:40pm CDT) Thursday evening October 6th. Of the reports received so far, green is the by far the most mentioned color. The average brightness reported by witnesses was near the light produced by a full moon.
