One could look at the access statistics for the - rather widely announced
- visual 'live' service the IMO offers. Or for the entirely non-scientific
'MeteorWatch' project which seems to have quite a fanbase in the U.K. And
even websites that just display meteor echoes - or where you can listen to
them - are popular.
My impression is that an easily accessible, reliable and fast - which the
current IMO visual system cannot be for obvious reasons - display site for
ZHRs would be a good thing for clouded out astronomers (who can at least
stare at the plot in frustration), journalists (who would finally have a
one-stop source for vetted data) and the public at large (which may be
motivited by a rising curve to go outside).
