We had a fairly good night, which was partly clear before
it became all clear after midnight for looking at meteors.
Earlier we saw the bright SN 2011fe and comet Garradd
C/2009 P1 in 12x63 binoculars and various telescopes.
Although the bright half-moon was up, facing West between
3:48 and 5:48 UT I was able to see 22 meteors. The brightest
was a 0 magnitude STA bolide that started as a 3rd magnitude
meteor that ended with a yellow-green terminal burst. A nice
medium-slow meteor. A few other STAs were seen, along with
several Sporadics and one nice NUE seen at 5:46 UT that was
1st magnitude and yellow-green colored with a 3 second train.
