(meteorobs) receiving strong frequent RADAR returns

There has been some sporadic E propagation yesterday and today on the 6 
meters, 50 MHz, amateur radio band. You may be receiving some echos due 
to propagation and not meteors. Sporatic E propagation normally generate 
longer echos on the order of minutes or even hours, but can be of short 
duration also.

During December/January there is typically a secondary peak of sporadic 
E. The primary peak is May-July.
