(meteorobs) Quad max and SNAFU in southern Maryland

I didn't observe last night from California, but I had an  inexperienced 
friend reported rates of 1 or 2 per minute. I'm pretty sure he  didn't record 
anything. Perhaps the rates were higher on the west coast than the  east 
this year?
