Hi
I came a cross a 1827 article about star jelly. My question have recent
observers heard or seen current (past 10 years) reports on such an
occurrence.

The article discusses the finding of a gelatinous material after seeing
a meteor or fire ball cross the night sky. The one discussion of
interest occurred in 1777 the night before the Battle of Brandywine
(near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania). The account discuss' a farmer named
John Trent, serving under George Washington on a campaign against
General Howe near the Head of Elk ( Head of Maryland's Elk River).
Trent on sentry duty observed the fall and found what he described as
the remains of a shooting star that was a gelatinous mass. The report
discuss' at least three other such observations in different locations.
