Commission 22 of the International Astronomical Union, for the first time in 
a long time, is proud to hosts a Joint Discussion at the IAU General Assembly 
in Beijing in late August. 

  "From meteors and meteorites to their parent bodies:
       Current status and future developments"

      Our commission will host a joint discussion 5,
      "From meteors and meteorites to their parent bodies:
       Current status and future developments"
       during 22-24 August, 2012.

 (3)  Special Session 7 

       The special session 7, "The impact hazard: current activities
       and future plans" will be dedicated to Near-Earth Objects, 
       and will take place on 27-28 August 2012.

       The topics covered will include the overall impact hazard,
impact consequences, population modeling, impact frequency for different
sizes, current and future ground-based and space-based surveys, human
and robotic exploration, mitigation, short-warning and long-warning
strategies, public policy, communication, international collaboration
and the IAU role.

       Do not forget to submit your abstract until the same deadline.
