Jim - You are correct about the meteor VLF research; most studies are just reports of observations with out any follow up or substantiation by others. For a little more insight into your meteor VLF hypothesis, Google "meteor electrophonics" . I believe that the electrophoric event is the most severe form of VLF emission. bob
