Hi Chris and Robert L.,Thankyou for your replies, i have an 8" SCT which i use for asteroid and lunar occultations, i run 2 cameras a Watec 902H and a GStar EXC (integrating camera).I can record to DVR but the compression discards a lot of resolution, i am able to record to a hard drive via a laptop but the program i use for capture only records frames and not fields, i have been advised on a small DVR which has been used  by some occultation observers which can record full frame video.I also have available a Kiwi-OSD which i usually run as well, i am aware that the new IOTA-VTI has a tv safe mode which will put the time code onto the frame in a position to be able to be read on systems which cut off the top and bottom of full frame.I recently purchased a JVC video camera with AVI input, but it cuts off the KIWI-OSD read out on the bottom. I can use the JVC camera as a recorder and record for an hour but time codes can't be read. The only things i can do is run a beeper box in the background which keeps an audible accurate time signal (as we don't have radio time code anymore) and i can patch that into the audio. I have not tested the visual/audio synchronisation to see what the delay is, if any. The other thing i can do is try to synchronise the camera's built-in time code to Beeper Box signal, which in turn is synchronised by BeeperSync program which utilises the UTC time via internet.As with all things digital it's sometimes hard to get things to be compatible to be able to be analysed, ie: i can record to JVC camera, but my laptop does not have firewire, my old one does but doesn't work as the harddrive is faulty, i can run AVI files in LiMovie, but the firewire port on a computer i CAN get access to only records in WMA. (Arrrrgh!) So you can see my frustration, i can get the data but it's a real headache to decipher properly, i have not tried LunarScan so if i do get data it might take me a while to sort out! I'll give it a go for sure, weather permitting. Cheers,
