After an all day hike uo from the Swannanoa Valley I finally reached the sumit of Greybeard Mtn. above Montreat, NC and spread out my sleeping bag. The view was incredible with 5.5 mag stars easily visible overhead after moonset. The meteor activity was good but not the best I have ever seen for the Orionids. There seemed to be a little peak during the first hour of the second morning, particularly during the half hour. Heard a coyote in the valley below during the first hour of the second morning.
