(meteorobs) I'm new on the list.... help requested

Hello Jay,

Thank you for the info, yes i presumed NAVSPASUR is to far for me. The chosen VOR are in a range of 450km more or less, what could be the optimum distance. Jean-Louis in France told me he is using VORs at 80-150 km, i can use VORs at such distance, but as i don't have any information regarding the transmitting power of Cuba's VORs, only their location and frequencies it may be working blind.

Hello Raydel 

Meteor Scatter reception from a NAVSPASUR site is limited to 350 Miles,
besides it is supposed to be turned off soon. A 100 Watt, 110 MHz Beacon may
work for you if you are at an optimum distance, too close and Forwardscatter
will interfere, too far and Backscatter will be too weak or too close to the
horizon.
