Hello Reydel

Go to this page. http://www.k5kj.net/meteor.htm
Scroll down the page, there is a table showing optimum pointing angles for
antennas labeled "Antenna Elevation Angle versus Distance between
Transmitter and Receiver in Miles."

Hello Jay,

Thank you for the info, yes i presumed NAVSPASUR is to far for me. The
chosen VOR are in a range of 450km more or less, what could be the optimum
distance. Jean-Louis in France told me he is using VORs at 80-150 km, i can
use VORs at such distance, but as i don't have any information regarding the
transmitting power of Cuba's VORs, only their location and frequencies it
may be working blind.

Thanks,

Raydel

Hello Raydel

Meteor Scatter reception from a NAVSPASUR site is limited to 350 Miles,
besides it is supposed to be turned off soon. A 100 Watt, 110 MHz Beacon may
work for you if you are at an optimum distance, too close and Forwardscatter
will interfere, too far and Backscatter will be too weak or too close to the
horizon.
