AFAIK, this list accepts posts with attachments. If it doesn't, that is 
a recent change. Perhaps yours was simply too large?

That said, given the range of machines and connections I access this 
content over, I generally prefer links to binary data, rather than 
attachments. It greatly increases the chances I'll be able to see it 
properly, and lets me skip it if the connection doesn't really support 
something of that size.
