I went out at 1 am CDST Sunday morning under partly cloudy skies hoping for some clearing South of the thunderstorms in northern Iowa. For a while the clouds got worse then became variable, but averaging around 50 percent. Finally about 3 am CDST it looked like it would clear enough to do useful observing. I began recording at 03:10 am CDST but soon after 03:50 am was shut out by overcast moving in from the West. So my only decent observation period lasted 40 minutes. The Perseids were active with one - 4 fireball. I saw no ATR's, ERI's, or KCG's, but considering the short session that's not surprising.

Usual place at McFarland Park.

Monday morning looks very doubtful here. Perhaps Tuesday morning?
