I went to Bootland Farm on Thursday morning to check out Nova Delphini and observe the post-max Perseids (PER). Sky was very nice (3/5 trans, mag 6.5-6.6), clear, 12C, a light breeze and no bugs.

I signed on for meteors at 2:10am (local time) and watched for two hours. It was actually a rather entertaining session with 67 meteors. Nowhere near the rates of last Monday morning, but with a lower expectation away from the peak, I was pleased. The PER were evidently on their declining slope, but still active enough to be the main shower activity with 28 of them seen. The brightest PER was a long mag -2 that left a 5 sec train. Other showers were active in small numbers, and I was surprised to see a few late Delta Aquariids. It's like they don't seem to want to give up. The Eta Eridanids were also fairly active with a few very swift meteors. The brighter ones appeared blue-green and were usually trained.
