Yes indeed, we do have our "sweltering hot" summer moments down here.  It
can be difficult even for the natives like myself.  I recall a Perseid
shower a few years ago when we got hit with a lingering, sweltering high
pressure air mass. The heat index pushed 114 degrees Fahrenheit during the
day and at night the ozone and heat haze were so severe, observations were
useless...;o(.  Fortunately, that type of event is rare.  Not to mention
our famous Florida mosquitoes, especially the ones so big they have
squadron numbers painted on their sides...;o).
