Hi Jim

You might want to look at KStars. I run Ubuntu (linux) but you can
apparently run it on a Windows computer as well.

If you have a spare computer kicking around, you could just try out
Ubuntu or duel boot. Also, you can run Ubuntu from a "live" cd. There
are lots of free applications.
