*Newsletter for the 32nd International Meteor Conference, 22 – 25 August
2013, Poznan, Poland.*

The next IMC is just 3 months ahead of us and it is time for another
newsletter.

Until now over 30 people registered. As the IMC happens one month earlier
than in most other years, the deadlines for registration are earlier too.
Until 31 May 2013 you can register at the reduced fee of 150 EUR to share a
room for two persons, after 31 May all fees increase with 15 EUR. The final
deadline for registration is 31 July 2013. To benefit from the reduced IMC
fee you should register before 31 May 2013. Please note that only double
rooms are available as all available single rooms are already taken.

As most lectures assume a rather advanced knowledge about meteor work there
is much interest from young and first time IMC participants for some
general talks to introduce the basics of different aspects of meteor
science. We therefore call for volunteers to give such introduction talk.
Except for the different observing techniques topics could cover stream
modeling, meteor physics or any other aspect where participants could
benefit from some educational presentation. Contact the IMC organizers in
case you volunteer for such educational lecture.

A radio workshop has been planned on Friday evening 23 August 2013. People
interested to participate and or to contribute to this workshop are welcome
to contact the IMO Radio Commission (radio at imo.net).

It is 25 years ago that the IMO was established and the 25th General
Assembly will take place on Saturday evening 24 August after dinner.

We strongly encourage people who present a lecture or poster to prepare
their paper for the Poznan IMC Proceedings in advance. A lecture or poster
without an associated paper in the IMC Proceedings is a pity for the
efforts made to prepare it as it will be easily forgotten and be of little
use to anyone after the IMC. Conference Proceedings guarantee that your
work can be consulted at any time and gets listed in the Ads Abstracts
database of Harvard. Help us to make the IMC Proceedings in time and submit
your paper before or during the IMC. The Sibiu IMC Proceedings (2011) with
44 papers (all the relevant lectures and posters) were produced within one
year and distributed at the IMC in La Palma. All IMC papers until the Sibiu
Proceedings can be consulted via the Ads Abstract service. The La Palma IMC
Proceedings (2012) so far contain 58 contributions, most of them can be
consulted online in preview (see
http://www.imo.net/imc2012/proceedings). Printed
copies will be available and distributed in Poznan.

The IMC accommodation in the IOR Congress Center is an all-in-one facility
entirely reserved for the IMC which is a great advantage for the typical
IMC style without other guests or running around between different
buildings. This offers an ideal situation for socializing and informal chat
during all three IMC evenings. People are welcome to bring their guitar or
any other instrument to entertain the informal evenings.

People who register for the professional conference Meteoroids 2013 which
follows after the IMC in Poznan are invited to inform us
(imc2013 at imo.net). Meteoroids
2013 offers exceptional attractive conditions for IMO amateurs and
students. See http://www.astro.amu.edu.pl/Meteoroids2013/index.phpfor more
information.

We look forward to welcome you in Poznan! Benefit from the reduced
registration rate and register at http://www.imo.net/imc2013/register before
31 May 2013.
