We had partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions with some
haze, but I was able to get in two hours of formal meteor
observing. From 7:00 to 9:00 UT I saw 25 meteors, mostly
sporadic, but 6 Orionids and 4 Sothern Taurids were also
seen. The best meteor was a nice slow Draconid (GIA) that
was 0 magnitude and yellow-orange colored seen at 8:24 UT.
That was the only GIA I saw. Only one OCT was seen then,
but earlier I saw 2 or 3 casually while observing with a
telescope from about 2 to 3 UT. It was also fun watching
the star Algol in eclipse.
