Hi David,

I checked the MMT Skycam to see if your fireball showed up there.
Unfortunately, the camera was not operating at its usual cadence
of one image every ~8 seconds. Instead, the closest image times
were 09:58:09, 10:13:04, 10:38:02 and 10:53:10. This is the first
time I've seen this behavior with the MMT Skycam. Compare with
image times on 10/13:

10:29:40, 10:29:48, 10:29:57, 10:30:06, 10:30:14, etc.

Dear friends,

On the morning of 2013 October 12, at approximately 10:30 UT I observed
a brilliant fireball as follows:

Magnitude estimate: minus 9
Very long, moderate and graceful movement from SW to SE. After major
flash, the remnant gradually continued southeastward for a few
seconds before fading away.

Because the Eta Cetid shower is already known for producing bright
fireballs, including a Magnitude -20 one on 1969 9 October, I suspect
that what I saw is a member of this stream.

Sincerely

David H. Levy
